Re: phpBB OpenID 0.2.3

Postby MasterZ » Sun Jul 12, 2009 10:31 am

phpBB OpenID 0.2.3 has been released.

This version fixes the major bugs that were in 0.2.2 as well as some minor bugs. Please download this version! It was 100% tested (unlike 0.2.2 :p). Also I added the MOD's version number to the UCP.

Thank you for using phpBB OpenID!

Fixed a minor bug. Eventually this MOD will be 100% bug free :D

Hi,

It took me a while to find this, because I ended up at the sourceforge site and so on.

Could you consider either:
- rename this mod so it is clearly a fork of the old version?, or
- take ownership of the phpopenid domain and the sourceforge project so they can be kept up to date?

Also, what is the status of phpbbopenid as far as security? The original phpbbopenid forums have as the last couple of emails a guy saying in red 'do not download! security issue!' or something to that effect that meant that I stopped trying to do anything with phpbbopenid for 24 hours or so. Then, I happened to try googling again, and found here, but I feel that many people would have stopped at that point.

Sorry for the late reply.

I can't take ownership of the other domain because I have had no contact with the mod author. I took this MOD over after the security threat was found and did not hear anything after trying to contact the author about it.

The security threat has been fixed in the release you download here.

I'm the author of the first phpBB openID MOD (the one hosted on SourceForge).

Please contact me if you want the project ownership transferred to you.

Hi, I saw from the development site, that you have integrated Google accounts, yahoo accounts along with log in using openID url.
Does this module support only the openID url part or all the other login methods as well?
If it doesn't support, could you please instruct me on how to get all the other login methods working.

Thank you in advance.
